About Saumy Mittal
Welcome, and thank you for stopping by. I am Saumy Mittal, from Rajasthan. Mathematics occupies most of my working hours, yet I find myself equally drawn to writing and music, three very different languages that, to me, somehow speak the same truth.
I am currently pursuing research at the Department of Mathematics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. My academic path has been a gradual and thoughtful one. It began with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the graduation level, followed by a Master's degree in Mathematics and a B.Ed. Along the way, I had the good fortune of clearing the UGC CSIR NET JRF, REET, and CTET examinations, not so much for the credentials, but as quiet proof to myself that I could keep learning.
Research
My research lies in the field of fluid dynamics and heat transfer, an area of mathematics devoted to understanding how fluids move and exchange heat under varying conditions. I am pleased to share that my paper with Dr. Sharad Sinha, titled "Heat transfer and flow dynamics of Williamson fluid in a converging/diverging channel under surface stretching and shrinking effects," has been published in the Journal of Engineering and Applied Science (Springer):

Teaching
Alongside my research, I run a YouTube channel where I try, in whatever small way I can, to make mathematical concepts a little easier for students preparing for competitive examinations. This includes a short tutorial on the MATLAB bvp4c method, offered in the hope that it may help someone working through boundary value problems, much as I once did.
Writing
Writing has always felt like a quiet homecoming for me. I maintain a small blog at saumymittal.in, where I share reflections on life, society, and the gentler things I notice along the way. I am also grateful that some of my poems have found a place in newspapers and literary platforms, including Amar Ujala:
Beyond Academics
Away from mathematics, you would most likely find me with a flute or piano in hand (still learning, and by no means a professional), moving comfortably between Hindi, English, Sanskrit, and Urdu, or simply exploring design and technology out of genuine curiosity.
I remain, in many ways, a work in progress. I am grateful for the process of learning itself, and I sincerely hope that something I share along the way might resonate with you as well.
